    1. Graphic score: the first page is the composition in its most general form, and the following pages are a realization of this form for flute, violin, and geometric animation. Each note color corresponds to a playing technique:
       • Violin: open string harmonic stopped string
       • Flute: clear tone breathy tone multiphonic
    2. Staff notation with glyphs: this score correlates the string-tablature and flute-fingering diagrams of the graphic score to more conventional staff notation.

Sound Installations

My friends Yoni Niv, Clara Latham and I are building a sound installation, provisionally titled The Cocktail Monkey Effect. The work is very much in progress, but we have some documentation and demonstrations:

• A short paper describing the installation’s concept, equipment, and rationale
• A diagram of the sound circuit
• Videos, demonstrating the sound circuit and simulating the visual concept

Meanwhile, I’ve been working on a project of my own: the Satco Sound System (gooseneck desk lamps with built-in speakers). In March 2010, I set up a four-lamp installation in NYU’s music department: see the video here, on Vimeo.
