execvp() -- General Function (libc) Execute a load module #include <unistd.h> execvp(file, argv) char *file, *argv[]; The function execvp() calls the COHERENT system call execve() to execute a program. It specifies arguments as a single, NULL-terminated array of parameters, called argv. Unlike the related call execv(), execvp() searches for file in all of the directories named in the environmental variable PATH. For more information on program execution, see execution. See Also environ, execution, execve(), libc, unistd.h POSIX Standard, §3.1.2 Diagnostics execvp() does not return if successful. It returns -1 for errors, such as file being nonexistent, not accessible with execute permission, having a bad format, or too large to fit in memory.
